SpaceWay: $350K+ raised on a token we rebuilt
SpaceWay Token, from Houston astronaut-training company Waypoint 2 Space, raised $350,000+ across two sold-out IDOs. We rebuilt its contract, had it independently audited and ran the launch, for a 19.7x return on our fee.

The client
SpaceWay Token is the utility token of Waypoint 2 Space, a Houston company that runs FAA-approved astronaut training and STEM education. The company is also planning a 35,000-square-foot Space Experience Center near NASA's Johnson Space Center. It was an established business with a strong story, but new to crypto.
The challenge
The business was operating, but the launch wasn't ready:
- Contract not launch-ready: the existing token contract wasn't secure or structured enough for a launchpad sale.
- Almost no audience: 20 followers on X and 4 members on Telegram.
- A story buyers didn't get: crypto buyers didn't immediately see how a space-training company connects to a token.
- No launch route: no confirmed launchpad, sale structure or path to an exchange.
What we did
We became SpaceWay's Web3 department across three phases: securing the token, building the story and running the raise. The work came down to seven steps.
1. Choosing the route. We mapped how Waypoint 2 Space earns: astronaut training, STEM education and the planned Space Experience Center. We kept SpaceWay Token as a utility token, used to unlock training, experiences, memberships and merchandise, so the company raised funds without giving up equity or control. We kept it on Ethereum, with a fixed supply of 2 billion tokens at $0.12. After comparing an exchange listing with Tier-2 launchpads, we chose IDOs: token sales on launchpad platforms that bring their own buyers.

2. Rebuilding the smart contract. Our review of the original 111-line contract showed it wasn't fit for a launchpad sale, so we rebuilt it from scratch. The new contract fixes the supply at 2 billion tokens and can be safely upgraded. We added a dedicated sale contract that lets buyers pay in ETH or stablecoins, and tested everything on a test network before deploying the final version on Ethereum.

3. Getting it independently audited. Because we wrote the new contract, we wanted someone independent to check it. We onboarded SpaceWay to QuillAudits, an established smart contract security firm, which reviewed the code on 6–7 July 2026. There were no critical, high or medium issues, and every finding was fixed before any sale went live. QuillAudits published the report, and SpaceWay highlighted it at launch.

4. Shaping the launch narrative. We turned the business into one simple story: an access-focused utility token for commercial space training and experiences. The messages rest on three pillars: space training access, immersive experiences, and membership and rewards. We also set clear guardrails: no promises of profit, no suggestion that NASA backs the token, and no claim that the planned center is already open.

5. Running the launch campaign. In June, we built pre-launch demand with a first wave of crypto influencers (KOLs) and a founder AMA. From 20 to 22 July, a second KOL wave pushed the sale across both launchpads.
- KOLs: from 25 to 40 vetted creators, we activated 11 for 13 posts across two waves, reaching 160,000+ impressions.

- Founder AMA: we shortlisted six hosts and booked Dapp Centre, a YouTube channel with 107,000 subscribers. Founder Kevin Heath's interview drew 14,000+ views and 111 comments.

6. Launching the IDOs on Spores and Kommunitas. On Spores, the sale ran in VIP, Triple Quota and first-come, first-served rounds from 20 to 22 July 2026, and sold out. On Kommunitas, the public sale targeted $150,000 at $0.12 per token and sold 100%. Together, the two sales raised over $350,000.

7. Reaching the token generation event. On 31 July 2026, after both sales closed, the token went live in buyers' wallets. One billion tokens are held in a multi-signature reserve wallet for security, and trading went live on BiFinance. By October 2026, the token had 505 holders onchain.
